Learning from those who built before us
Restoration of collectible flamenco guitars
Every instrument requires an understanding of how it was built, the transformations it has undergone and which aspects of its present condition truly belong to its history.
“I consider a restoration successful when the original guitar is the only thing that remains visible.”
Francisco SánchezWorking approach
Preserving the instrument and restoring its function
Before intervening in a guitar, I carry out a complete reading of its structure, woods, joints, deformations and the repairs accumulated over time.
The aim is not to return it to an idealised appearance or erase the traces of its history, but to restore its stability, function and coherence while preserving as much original material as possible.
Every technique, material and procedure must become part of the instrument without competing with it.
